Robert Holguin
Currently heading the Academy is Robert Holguin. Robert was Dr. Reed’s protégé in the Academy. His involvement in the Academy is close to 25 years. Robert has worked closely with Dr. Reed and was brought up along the same lines: full respect and admiration for the genre fields of science fiction, fantasy & horror. Robert has taken over many of the duties of the recently deceased Leader.

BIOS FOR NOMINATION COMMITTEE LEADERS
Some of the brightest talent currently serve on many of these committees.
They include:
Mark Altman:
Film Producer whose credits include “Free Enterprise” (with William Shatner), “The Specials” (with Rob Lowe), “Darkroom” (with Greg Grunberg), and “The Thirst” (with Matt Keeslar). He also served as editor of CFQ Magazine and Geek Magazine. Mark is known worldwide as a “trekspert” for his vast knowledge of the original series, Star Trek. He is a noted author for writing books on Twin Peaks and Star Trek.
Kerry O'Quinn:
Genre film specialist. Co-created the genre magazines Starlog Magazine and Fangoria Magazine. He is currently working on several film projects.
James Karen:
Veteran actor of Broadway, film, and television. He has worked with such industry veterans as Steven Spielberg (“Poltergeist”), Oliver Stone (“Wall Street”), Frank Marshall (“Congo”), Bryan Singer (“Superman Returns”), and Will Smith (“The Pursuit of Happyness”). We love him for his terrific performance in “Return of the Living Dead”
Jeff Rector:
Genre actor who has been working over 20 years in film and television. He recently wrote, directed, and starred in his own feature film, REVAMPED, which was adapted from his award-winning short film.
Delilah Andre:
One of the fresh new faces in film and television, Delilah is a film enthusiast who has an extensive knowledge of genre filmmaking. She had a featured role in the television series, Veronica Mars.
Irwin Keyes:
Irwin is one of the veteran character actors working in film and television. His roles include playing Hugo in the tv series, The Jeffersons. He has had featured roles in such films as “The Flintstones”, “The Warriors”, “House of 1000 Corpses”, and the Coen Brothers’ film, “Intolerable Cruelty”. He worked for Woody Allen in “Stardust”.
Richard Correll:
Veteran director who has worked steadily in episodic television the past 20 years. Some of the series he has directed include: Full House, Step By Step, Family Matters, That’s So Raven, Corey in the House, and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
Paul Todisco:
Talented young director who graduated from USC in the 90’s. He has directed two notable films: “Freak Talks About Sex” (with Steve Zahn), and “One Day Like Rain”. He also served as assistant editor in the series, Andy Richter Controls the Universe.
Bryan Singer:
Top film director who has been involved with the Sci Fi Academy and the Saturn Awards since the mid-80’s (while attending classes as a student at USC). His acclaimed film work includes: “The Usual Suspects”, “X-Men’, “X2”, “Superman Returns”, and Valkyrie (starring Tom Cruise). He also serves as Executive Producer of the popular television series, House.
Mike Werb:
A Los Angeles native, Mike attended Stanford. He became a writer by entering the UCLA Master’s program in screenwriting. His writing credits include: “The Mask”, “Darkman 3: Die, Darkman, Die!”, and “Gnaw: The Food of the Gods 2”. Mike co-wrote and co-produced (with Michael Colleary) the sci-fi thriller “Face/Off”. Both Mike and Michael received Saturn Awards: Best Writing for “Face/Off”. Recent credits include “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider”, “Collateral Damage”, “Curious George” and “Firehouse Dog”..
Michael Colleary:
Michael has been a professional screenwriter for more than 20 years. His feature film work includes “Face/Off” (written with Mike Werb) which “The New York Times” named one of the best 1000 movies ever made. He co-wrote and produced the family film “Firehouse Dog”.
Bradley Marcus:
Brad is currently working on several scripts with his writing partners, Kevin Marcus, Charlie Vignola, and Doug Amaturo. Bradley / Kevin have been members of the Academy over 20 years and have worked on the Saturn Awards writing staff and, in later years, co-producing the event since 1998
Wayne Mogilefsky:
Wayne has served as Creative executive at Silver Pictures. He is currently working on several new scripts which he hopes to see produced in the near future.
Jon and Al Kaplan:
Noted experts on soundtrack music, the Kaplan brothers have written and edited many articles for Film Score Monthly. They wrote a musical, Silence! Silence of the Lambs: The Musical which has gained a cult following and positive reviews.
Kurt Reichenbach:
Kurt is a graphic design artist by day, a cabaret singer at night. He is an accomplished singer/musician who recently saw his first cd released to the public. Film critic Rex Reed hails Kurt as “a dazzling new singer”. Kurt can be seen performing at local clubs in the Los Angeles area.
Eric Caidin:
Eric is a film enthusiast who has been promoting film and television over 30 years. He owns the popular Hollywood Book and Poster Co. on Hollywood Blvd. He currently puts on Grindhouse festivals at the New Beverly Cinema and is well known for his cult programming. He can regularly be seen at Fangoria Magazine conventions and wrestling events.
Paul Salamoff:
A make up artist who has gone on to become a noted producer/writer/. He has written a book “Movie Sets 101” and currently has several screenplays at various companies waiting to be produced.
John Bruno:
Academy-award winning visual effects artist who won an Oscar for his work on “The Abyss”. His other masterful work in special effects include: “Poltergeist”, “Ghostbusters”, “Fright Night”, “Terminator 2”, “Batman Returns”, “True Lies”, “AVP: Alien Vs. Predator”, and “X-Men: The Last Stand”.
Ted Andre:
Ted is a talented visual effects creator, filmmaker, and composer. He has provided visual effects for Oscar-nominated films which include “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End”, “The Golden Compass”, and “Transformers”. He was a driving creative force behind the award-winning and critically acclaimed independent sci fi feature, “Feedback”, a film which he co-produced and composed music for.
Roger Fenton:
A graduate of UCLA, Roger has notched a career in film editing. His credits include: “The Fugitive”, “The Usual Suspects”, “X2”, and “Superman Returns”.
Kevin Marcus:
A screenwriter who is currently working on several projects with his writing partners, Bradley Marcus, Charlie Vignola, and Doug Amaturo. Robert Meyer Burnett:
Robert Meyer Burnett is a well-respected producer of dvds. Some of his works include: “The Fantasia Legacy”, “Disney Through the Decades”, “The Secret Origin of X-Men”, and “Requiem for Krypton: Making “Superman Returns”. Robert has also produced the film “Agent Cody Banks”, and is well known for his work in directing the cult film, “Free Enterprise”. He plans on re-teaming with Mark Altman to make “Free Enterprise 2”
